Our Own Place!

09.10.12

We spent the majority of today cleaning, yet I felt like I got nothing done.  A lot of that is my fault...I wasn't organized, still stuck in my daze a little so when ppl asked me what they could do I didn't know how to delegate specifically except to say, "Grab some bleach and go at it!"  But we made it to the end of the day, got everything at least moved up and we have beds to sleep in tonight!  The girls LOVE being back in their own space and thankfully Toby is used to sleeping with us so he also went down without a problem!

I did get to cover some of the nursing duties today so that Sheila could take a much needed break and head to the pool today!  I don't know that i really was that helpful or did anything that Fifi (our Haitian nurse) couldn't have done better but it did give me a good chance to get into the baby house and the pharmacy and fiddle with things...it was a small taste on the tip of my tongue of nursing in Haiti.  Language was definitely a barrier but I could tell the nannies were open to talk with me.  Lord, I am really excited about potential relationships with the nannies--open my heart and my eyes to be on the lookout for opportunities to grow and form those!
We had a GREAT meal this afternoon or CHICKEN legs!  Toby was loving them and the girls even ate them too and surprised themselves with how much they liked them!
Toby was so thrilled that we just gave him one and let him go at it :)  Best he has sat and ate since we have been here.
Karys is still on a high about the milk that we were able to find!
You will find her in the fridge often, pouring herself a glass :)
Gracie's go to has been toast or peanut butter sandwiches--sometimes we even have jelly!  The bread is a little different here but they are adjusting to it well!

The girls put on a GREAT dance show during the "bed moving" process.  Karys is such a performer and a leader on the "stage".  I think she only whacked someone with her microphone (aka flashlight) once :)  Before bed I also killed my 1st 2 bigger variety of cockroaches.  We shall see how I sleep after this--they are pretty harmless yet SOOOO, very gross and disgusting!  I would love to never see another one, but I am positive that that is just wishful thinking!
