We are in countdown mode! We are living our day to day life in Haiti, still present in our daily comings and goings and challenges and obstacles; however, in the back of all of our heads the timer is ticking...
14 DAYS until we will be back in the US...
14 DAYS until we will get to see family and friends, some of whom we haven't' seen in 9 months!
14 DAYS until we will get to eat the food we have been missing and craving...
14 DAYS until we will be able to ALWAYS turn the hot water on for a shower...
14 Days....
Even as I write this a pit forms in my stomach...Seriously?!?!? What could be tainting my excitement right now? But as I wit in it a little-as I identify emotions that I feel rising to the surface throughout these countdown days, I am also able to realize that this countdown also brings with it a breeze of anxiety...
14 days and then our trip is started, and the countdown to when it will end is now also ticking away...
14 days and I will have to say goodbye to these nannies that I love so much (for 5 WEEKS!)...
14 days and I will leave the friends I have come to know and love. The only ones who TRULY know what this life is like, the ones I have come to rely on and cherish...
14 days and we will encounter consumerism, materialism, selfishness and the bliss of remaining ignorant to the things that have been etched on my heart in Haiti...the things I will never forget...
14 days until I face a relationship that has gone without much acknowledgement or work...
Oh, Jesus! 14 DAYS!
I know that my family needs this time. Rob needs the time to decompress and to rest and we all are so looking forward to reconnecting and being filled by the AMAZING support system that God has provided us with along this journey. I wish there was an endless amount of time...coffee dates, morning runs, tee times, dinners out, late night talks and walks, movies, days of rest, boating...our list is so long! God we seek that balance of finding how to manage our time and be filled, yet the wisdom to take space and allow you to restore and heal and quiet and center our spirits. God BE IN THIS COUNTDOWN!!! and be in our time...
With that being said, I thought I would give a rough outline of what our time in the states looks like. Like I said, we are looking to CONNECT...but we are also wanting to be intentional about REST! So, take a look! See where you fit and hopefully we can make something work to see you in the early weeks, even if to share an embrace or a smile! We are grateful to all of you for your prayers...please continue to remember us as we COUNTDOWN and prepare :)
May 30--Leave HAITI!!! Arrive in Minneapolis to begin Operation:Celebrate Rob's GRADUATIONS from Seminary!!!
May 30-June 2 Minneapolis
June 2-June 4--Lennox
June 4-June 9--Orange City!!! Rob is preaching at Trinity Reformed Church on Sunday, June 9 :)
June 9-June 16-18--Pella, IA
June 16-18-June 20--Lennox
June 20-July 6--Lennox or Enemy Swim Lake (Rob will be at Bethel June 24-28)
July 8--Fly back to HAITI!!!
